Mr. Clausi is a retired police lieutenant with 23 years of experience with the Franklin
Police Department. During his service, he created the first Community Oriented
Policing program and Police Mountain Bike Unit within the Franklin Police
Department. Mr. Clausi also supervised the Internal Affairs Division and
Professional Standards Division within the Department. Some of his special assignments included; Narcotics Enforcement, Assistant SWAT Team Commander,
and the original police representative of the 21st Judicial Drug Court.
In the fall of 2002, Chris was introduced to drug court. Chris immediately realized the potential success of the philosophy and committed his time and additional officers to the team. Chris was a member of the 21st Judicial District Drug Court and the first Law Enforcement Liaison to the Court. A position he volunteered for. He attended all drug court sessions and provided valuable resources to the team and the participants. In his capacity as a Law Enforcement Professional, he regularly
interacted with the drug court participants to ensure their success.
Chris is currently employed as the Assistant Director of Metro Nashville Community
Oversight (MNCO). The MNCO serves as the staff for the Metro Nashville
Community Oversight Board. Among other things, Chris oversees all investigations
derived from citizen complaints alleging any type of police misconduct within the
Metro Police Department.
Chris holds a Juris Doctorate degree, a bachelor’s degree in Management and Ethics,
and a high school diploma from Franklin High School. Chris served as the ethics instructor for the Franklin Police Department and currently serves as a faculty member of The National Drug Court Institute.
